German shipbuilder Lürssen’s iconic 126.1-metre Octopus yacht sold in August this year for $265.27 million and is currently in the Camper & Nicholsons charter fleet. The yacht is made of steel and aluminum with a super large area with two helipads.
Octopus was built in 2003 and features designs by Monaco-based luxury superyacht designer Espen Øino. The project made waves in the industry when it was launched and is still considered the largest adventure superyacht in the world to this day.
The superyacht was owned by the late Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen and was put on the market about a year after his death.
Octopus carries a variety of equipment including two helicopters stored in a dedicated hangar located on the deck.
